When you join or switch to npower for your gas supply, you will receive a £50 discount if paying by monthly or quarterly direct debit. The discount is payable after 12 months continuous payments. Your monthly direct debit will be estimated, then every quarter a meter reading will be taken and your bill amended to ensure that you are always paying the right amount for your gas.
Sign Online 18: This tariff guarantees that the prices will be 2% lower, on an annual basis, than the standard variable quarterly cash/cheque prices until 30th June 2011. However, there is a catch as this guarantee is based on a customer with a typical annual average electricity and gas consumptions, and also includes the monthly dual fuel direct debit discount. This will cost you approximately £500 as an average energy user.
Go Fix 2: This tariff is exclusively online with fixed prices until 31st July 2011, it is available to both new and existing customers. This tariff will cost approximately £540 per year as an average energy user.
Standard: This tariff is the most expensive and most popular gas only package, however there is no standing charge and has a wide variety of flexible payment options. The average energy user will spend approximately £624 a year if paying by direct debit, and £50 more if paying upon the receipt of the bill.
Npower provide a scrappage scheme where you could receive up to £400 discount off a new energy efficient boiler. Your current boiler must be over 10 years old for you to be eligible. As the boilers are A rated for energy efficiency, your annual bill could be reduced by up to £235. The boiler comes with a free five year warranty and a range of finance options to spread the cost, making energy efficient boilers a stress free process.
Npower are starting to roll out a project over the next 11 years which will involve replacing all household gas meters which they are anticipating will drastically change the way supplier and customer interact. These meters will give the customer more control over their energy usage and will hopefully help reduce bills through its usage comparison features.
